Dr Biao Zeng's research interests are primarily in audiovisual speech perception and speech breathing. Another major part of his research interests lie in the practical areas, including VR, AI and eye-tracker applications, and brain-computer interface (BCI) for education and vulnerable groups, e.g. post-stroke survivors and ageing people. He also has research interests in political behaviour, socioeconomic status in education, and its association with children’s later development.
Dr Biao Zeng, University of South WalesI have a strong passion for language and speech behaviours, which led me to research psycholinguistics and neuroscience. Growing up with Wenzhouese, a unique Chinese dialect spoken by 5 million people, I am fascinated by the diversity of language and speech. Similarly, Welsh captivates me as a rich linguistic heritage. With AI-powered speech science and a global Wales, I aim to push the boundaries of research and technology. Looking ahead, I hope to introduce and host the InterSpeech Conference, bringing together experts to advance the future of speech research."
