Professor Joanne Davies, Swansea University

Professor Jo Davies has over 30 years of experience in clinical practice and educational leadership at a local, national and international level including start-up projects and simulation national collaborations and research in the UK, Middle East & North Africa (MENA), and Australia.

Prof Jo Davies previous projects included a $30 million- start-up of an international simulation centre as the founding Director and co-founded and chaired the Qatar Simulation Consortium with partners from Weill Cornell Medical School -Q and the University of Calgary in Qatar.

Prof Jo joined Swansea in 2020 as a consultant and took over as Head of Simulation Education in 2021, directing the design, commissioning and opening of a £7.2 million project to enhance education through simulation and immersive learning programmes and facilities. Since joining Swansea University from she has also been awarded over £2 million GBP of simulation research grants and commerical contracts and is currently working on two additional substantive simulation facility and large scale programmes, locally and internationally. Prof Jo is a huge advocate for collaborative approaches to SBE strategy and projects has presented to the UK and international government bodies regarding her work in SBE and the award winning centres she has directed.
