Dr Andrew Thompson, Business and Creative Industries, University of South WalesI am proud to be part of the Ambassador Wales | Llysgennad Cymru programme. An important part of my work at the University of South Wales is speaking to students and university partners in south Asia about Wales as a place in which to study, work, and live. Though I am originally from Northern Ireland, Wales has been my home for nearly 40 years and I am proud of what this country has to offer to visitors from overseas. Once you are here you will quickly discover you can have all the advantages and facilities of city life, as well as easy access to beautiful countryside and coastline, great food and locations to enjoy downtime. One of the best events I which I have been involved in organising was a dinner in the entrance hall of the National Museum/Amgueddfa Genedlaethol in Cardiff, as part of an international conference. While we have, of course, so many great, modern venues for conferences, there was something very special about an evening event in such a wonderful, historic location in the heart of the capital city."
