Dr Teh began her academic journey as a Lecturer in the School of Information Technology at UCSI University, where she later advanced to the roles of Senior Lecturer and Head of School. Her leadership continued at Sunway University, where she served as Head of the Department of Information Systems.
Dr Teh’s research explores the profound impact of social media on society, with a particular focus on applying Natural Language Processing (NLP) to analyse user sentiment. Her work supports a wide range of applications—from helping businesses understand customer perceptions to detecting fraud and safeguarding individuals and communities against online hate speech. Her promotion to full professorship at Sunway University reflects the growing influence of her research across academia, industry, and society. By combining social media insights with advanced NLP techniques, Dr Teh continues to address complex societal challenges through innovative, data-driven solutions.
